Children's Programs

     Programming is offered to children of all ages, ranging from baby lapsit to programming for tweens and teens. There are a mix of series of related programs and special occasional programs. The Summer Reading Programs is also offered each summer. Please check out our Events Calendar for details.

     The programs for children ages 6 and below are offered in 9 week sessions 3 times a year. There are regular weekly programs for various age groups, as well as specialty programs such as Crafts and Music and Movement. Please refer to the preschool storytime brochure for complete details.

Pumpkin Painting Party
October 12th at 6:30PM
For children age 5-12 and their families. This family event invites you to bring your own pumpkin or two and decorate it with stencils, paint, markers, etc. Registration is required.

I'm Not Afraid!
October 25th at 6:30PM
This non-scary Halloween story time will be presented by Tag and Karen. The program will be a combination of traditional and original stories and songs featuring a not-so-scary Halloween theme. Be sure to wear your costumes!

Art Programs

These programs allow children to look at famous artists and explore one or more art skills, then; they can create their own masterpiece. This program is for children in grades 2-5. Pre-registration is required. Stop in the E.V. Reed Children's Room to sign-up.

Style and Shaping
October 18th from 3:30-5:00
Look at Artist Piet Mondrian and create your own Mondrian-style work.

Oceans Rock
November 14th from 3:30-5:00
Discover Painter, Author, and Environmentalist Ron G. Stevens. Be inspired to make your own “ocean art”.

Charming Chagal
December 18th from 3:30-5:00
Be enchanted by Mark Chagall and design your own fanciful creation.
